Share
Neurobion B12 Forte is a liquid B-complex supplement that comes in drinkable vials. If you grew up seeing it at home or used it in another country and now you're looking for it in the US, here's what's in it according to the label, who it may make sense for, and how to take it.
What Neurobion B12 Forte is
It's a dietary supplement made in the US by OTC Pharmaceutical Products. Each box has 10 vials of 10 ml. The main ingredient is vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin (3,000 mcg per vial), along with other B vitamins and L-carnitine.

What vitamin B12 does
According to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, vitamin B12 plays a role in the development and function of the central nervous system, healthy red blood cell formation, and DNA synthesis.
The NIH also lists the groups more likely to run low on B12:
- Older adults, especially those with stomach absorption issues.
- People on vegetarian or vegan diets, since B12 is naturally found only in animal foods.
- People who've had gastrointestinal surgery, like weight-loss surgery.
- People who take metformin or acid reducers (like omeprazole) long term.
To be straight with you: the NIH notes that if your B12 levels are already normal, taking more hasn't been shown to boost physical performance. If you're dealing with ongoing fatigue or tingling in your hands or feet, ask your doctor for a blood test before you start supplementing.
Why 3,000 mcg when the daily recommendation is so much lower
The recommended daily amount of B12 for adults is 2.4 mcg (2.6 mcg during pregnancy and 2.8 mcg while breastfeeding). The gap comes down to absorption: your body absorbs very little of a high dose. The NIH reports absorption of about 2% at 500 mcg and 1.3% at 1,000 mcg. The NIH also hasn't set an upper limit for B12 because of its low potential for toxicity.
How to take Neurobion B12 Forte
- The label lists a serving size of 1 vial (10 ml). Follow the package directions or your doctor's advice.
- Shake the vial before opening and drink it straight.
- If you already take other B-complex supplements, add up the amounts before adding a new one.
- If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication, or managing a health condition, check with your doctor first.
B12 Forte, Extra Forte, or Plus: which one
All three come in vials, but the formulas are different. B12 Forte pairs 3,000 mcg of B12 with a broad B complex. Neurobion B12 Extra Forte has 10,000 mcg of B12 with L-arginine. Neurobion Plus has 150 mcg of B12 with an amino acid blend. For the full side-by-side, check our Neurobion liquid guide.
